Axie Infinity

Axie Infinity is a blockchain-based play-to-earn game developed by the Vietnam-based studio Sky Mavis.

It runs on the Ronin network, an Ethereum sidechain.

Players acquire, train, breed, and battle creatures called Axies, which exist as NFTs and can be used to earn the in-game currency SLP.

Axies can be bought or sold in the marketplace, letting players convert earnings to real money.

To begin playing, players need three Axies, a requirement whose cost has fluctuated over time, creating a barrier to entry.
