Uniswap is one of the first and largest Ethereum-based decentralized exchanges.

It popularized the automated market maker design that now underpins many DEXs.

Instead of traditional order books, liquidity is supplied through a system of pre-funded and user-funded liquidity pools, enabling swaps to be executed algorithmically.

Launched in 2018 by Hayden Adams, Uniswap's ecosystem has since broadened to include stablecoins, governance mechanisms, and analytics platforms.
