Flashbots is a research and development organization focused on mitigating the negative externalities of Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) techniques on blockchains.

It emphasizes transparency around MEV activity and aims for democratization and sustainable distribution of MEV revenue.

Since its 2020 founding by Scott Bigelow, Phil Daian, Stephane Gosselin, Alex Obadia, and Tina Zhen, the project has primarily served Ethereum searchers and validators seeking efficient and transparent MEV extraction, while promoting open collaboration and fair reporting.
