Web3 Dictionary is a free, open-source, community-contributed reference for everything Web3: 313 terms across 12 categories, built to be permanent.
The Challenge
The internet doesn't lack Web3 glossaries it has too many. They're scattered across whitepapers, blog posts, and project docs, written for different audiences, inconsistent in depth, and none of them complete. Scams thrive in the space education abandoned. The goal was to build something neutral, thorough, and permanent. Not a marketing glossary. A proper reference covering Blockchain, DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, Smart Contracts, Security, Tokenomics, Wallets, Regulation, and more. Maintainable by contributors who are not engineers, at zero ongoing cost.
The solution
A statically generated Next.js 16 app built entirely on Markdown no database, no CMS, no backend. Every term is an MDX file in version control. Contributions go through an automated GitHub Actions pipeline that validates schema, slug integrity, and cross-references before anything reaches production. Search runs fully in-memory at build time, surfaced through a command palette with zero latency.

Open-Source Education Infrastructure
This is infrastructure for Web3 education not a product, not a marketing asset. Static generation over a dynamic CMS was a deliberate trade: zero runtime cost, perfect Lighthouse scores, trivially cacheable at the edge, and a git history that serves as an immutable audit trail for every definition ever written.
Web3 Dictionary is the first in a series of open-source education tools Lancers Technology is building for the ecosystem. The foundation is here. What comes next builds on it.
